Academia Stands for Green Deal
The 5th edition of Academia Stands for Green Deal took place at Mines Nancy, University of Lorraine on 2–3 September 2026, bringing together more than 100 participants from academia, research, industry and the student community.
Over two days, the conference explored how the green transition is being reshaped by questions of resources, industrial resilience, digital technologies, energy systems and circularity. Beyond sharing research and experience, the discussions highlighted the need to connect scientific expertise with concrete strategic choices and implementation.
This was brought to life in the Student Challenge “Critical Materials Under Pressure: Investigate, Prioritise, Respond”, where multidisciplinary student teams worked with experts to investigate critical raw-material challenges, identify priorities and develop their own strategic responses before pitching them to the conference audience.
The 5th edition once again showed the value of bringing different disciplines, sectors and generations into the same conversation, and turning discussion into collective reflection and action.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, and see you in 2027 for the 6th edition!
