Her research links socioeconomic metabolism with management science and engineering and integrated assessment models. She tries to explore how the fleet dynamics in sustainable transportation systems will influence metal cycles, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.

 

Dr. Chen's work has been published in high-profile journals such as Nature Communications and One Earth and covered by domestic and international media. She has worked for the non-governmental organization Project Drawdown to help develop the transportation emission model.
