Dr. Alexandre Nominé
Associate Professor, University of Lorraine
Researcher, Institute Jean Lamour, France and Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia

Dr Alexandre Nominé's research lies at the intersection of materials science, nanotechnology and sustainability. His work covers the synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials and thin films for optical and energy-related applications, as well as sustainable-by-design approaches, critical raw material substitution and the role of materials in the green and digital transitions.
He holds an engineering degree in Materials Science from EEIGM and a PhD in Plasma Physics from the University of Lorraine. His international research experience includes positions at The Open University in the United Kingdom and ITMO University in Saint Petersburg, as well as extensive research collaborations with academic and scientific partners worldwide.
Alexandre Nominé is the Director of GREENANO, an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master dedicated to nanomaterials for the green and digital transitions, and the Scientific Coordinator of HERawS, a European initiative focused on critical raw materials, sustainability assessment, education and public awareness.
In 2023, he received the Jean and André Rist Medal from the French Society of Metallurgy and Materials in recognition of his scientific and applied contributions to materials research.
